long time, no blog

man, i am so ashamed of myself that i have allowed myself to go so long without writing an entry; well, hopefully this is the last time. well, a lot has happened in my life since the last time i've written. i'm sure most of you know the big stuff, so i won't give much detail, but for those of you who don't know........i found out about 2 months ago that i was chosen to be one of two Ministry Assistants at Ascension Balham Hill in London, England. i fly out Sept. 8 and will be over there a whole year; i can't freakin' wait. i must say that getting everything in order so i can leave hasn't been the easiest ordeal i've ever experienced; i don't even have my visa as of yet. i just can't wait until i'm there and settled in and no longer a stranger to the area.
also, i saw a really good movie last night and recommend that everyone of you go see it as soon as possible; that movie is Garden State. it is written/directed/and stars Zach Braff, he plays the funny JD on Scrubs, as Andrew Largeman, a disaffected 20-something who lives in LA to pursue his acting career, but finds himself back in his hometown in NJ to attend his mother's funeral. i tell ya, this movie potrays what its like for a lot of people in my generation in such a poiniant and beautiful way. it also stars Natalie Portman as Sam, a lovely and endearing girl who plays a key part in Andrew's search to find who he is and why he is so emtionally bankrupt; Natalie gives a brilliant and beautiful performance. Also giving an incredible performance is Peter Sarsgaard as Mark, one of Andrew's friends from high school, who now works in a cemetary as a grave digger and spends his time taking hits from his beer bong. i won't give any more of the story away, but i will add that the music Zach picked for this movie is so freakin good. i mean, just to name a few, he uses Coldplay, Zero 7, Simon and Garfunkel, and a cover of a Postal Service song....simply brilliant. i definitely plan on seeing this movie again before i leave for London....maybe even a couple more times. anyway, see it and let me know what you think of it. i'll write again soon........i promise.
