more bad news...

just got a call from my mom, 'i've got some bad news,' she says..... its never good when i hear that on the other end of the phone. the last time i heard that it was the news that my grandpa had passed away, and this time wasn't any different. the bad news is that my Aunt Cathy (my mom's sister) passed away earlier this evening; sucks so bad. she has has some health concerns for the past few years, but nothing so severe to not make this extremely shocking/painful. my mom seemed ok talking to her on the phone until i asked her how she was doing, then her voice broke and said she was a bit in shock as it is her first sibling to lose. it doesn't sound like my uncle is doing all that well, he's quite broken up about it.

if you could remember my family in prayer that would be so appreciated, i'm sure then next week or so will be tough for most of them. thanks.

great concert

went to a Ben Folds concert this evening at UNI... it was way cool i didn't have to travel out of town. i probably don't have to say this, but he was friggin amazing. hearing all the songs i used to listen to non-stop took me back, back to my days at BWC. i feel a bit bad as i've lost touch with Ben over the past couple of years... i don't even have his newest CD. i was a bit surprised by how many people were there, especially young people. it seems to me that Ben Folds, in the past few years, has been replaced by the likes of Death Cab or Bright Eyes in the hearts of indie music lovers; maybe i'm wrong. anyway, it was so good to hear all the songs that i love again and to see that Ben is still 'rockin' the suburbs (just like quiet riot did)'.
